State of State Parks Seventy State Parks are slated for closure in the coming year due to budget cuts. The Governor's Mansion in Sacramento is one of those parks. On a special live broadcast of Insight from the Governor's Mansion, we'll talk about the status of California's parks with the Director of the Department of State Parks, Ruth Coleman, and the District Superintendent for the Capital District of California State Parks, Catherine Taylor.

Governor's Mansion Foundation As California prepares to stop funding the Historic Governor's Mansion as a state park, at least one group is trying to make up the money lost.  The son and granddaughter of Governor Earl Warren are running a foundation that they hope will raise enough money to keep the Governor's Mansion open.  We'll talk with Bob and Debra Warren about their roles in The California State Historic Governor's Mansion Foundation as part of our live broadcast from the mansion.    

Mansion Tour Jeffrey Callison will get an insider's tour of the Historic Governor's Mansion with long-time docent Albert Howenstein.
 
Dan Walters Sacramento Bee Columnist Dan Walters joins us for our live broadcast from the Historic Governor's Mansion to discuss the homes, ranches, mansions and lofts that governors have called home in the 30 years since the Governor's Mansion stopped being a residence and started being a state park.  Walters will also speak about the fund to build a new governor's mansion that no governor wants to use.
