CEQA Bills The legislature passed three bills
in the last 36 hours of this year's session that many environmental
groups say will weaken protections of The California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). We'll speak with Senator
Alex Padilla about his bill, SB 292, which will expedite the proposed
first-ever LEED certified Football Stadium in downtown Los
Angeles through the environmental review process. Some
environmental groups support the so-called "NFL Stadium Bill," while others think it's a
slippery slope to start making exceptions to environmental
review.
CEQA Supporters The legislature passed three bills in the final day of session this
year that are causing some inner conflicts with environmental
groups. On one hand, the bills streamline "green" projects,
on the other hand, the bills alter the judicial review process
established by the California Environmental Quality Act.
We'll speak with the director of the Sierra Club of
California, Kathryn Phillips, and a senior attorney with
the Natural
Resources Defense Council, David Pettit.
Capitol Chat We'll take a look back at the
stories and issues in the news from California's Capitol reporter
Ben Adler. He'll bring sound
bites and analysis to the discussion and let us know what's
happening at the capitol.
Keith Lowell Jensen Comedian Keith Lowell
Jensen will be at The Sacramento Comedy Spot tonight to celebrate
the release of his new CD and DVD, "Cats Made of Rabbits." Recorded in
front of a sold out crowd at The Sacramento Comedy Spot, "Cats Made
of Rabbits" features the comedian using his usual schizophrenic
approach to take the listener from Jensen's personal stories to his
take on marijuana laws, homophobia, animal rights and of course
religion.
