"Gila River and Mama" A Sacramento woman has made a documentary film about her mother who was a young white volunteer nurse in an internment camp for people of Japanese ancestry during World War II.
The documentary premieres at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26th at the California Museum Auditorium.
Nick Gravenites Chicago blues and blues-rock legend is performing at Blues on the Green at Capital Public Radio on Sunday. Jeffrey spoke with Nick the last time he visited Sacramento in 2007 and he performed live in our studio.
Lasher Keen Is the name of a "wood metal" band from Nevada City who will be on tour in the Bay Area, promoting their new album titled "Wither." It features guest musicians from prominent bay area bands such as Faun Fables & Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. "Wood metal" is a genre that bridges early Medieval & Celtic music to long epic ballads about ancient blood sacrifice rituals.
