Insight: Football / Electric Cars / Poetic Justice Project / Tim Comstock

Football Grant Union High School football is one Sacramento team setting a nice example for national high school sports. The team scored the privilege of national coverage of their opening season game against No. 1 ranked Folsom High School. We'll talk with Grant High's football coach about how he's helped shape the No. 2 ranked team, and get a general overview of Sacramento's football scene.

Coverage of the game starts today at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.

Electric Cars Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular, but owning one may not be as easy as just plugging in. Who should pay for electricity at workplace charging stations? Is there actually a cost benefit to using electricity instead of oil? What sort of incentives are available now for electric vehicle owners? You'll hear a story from a Merced man who's already had issues driving his EV, and from two electric vehicle experts who know all about this up-and-coming industry.

Poetic Justice Project An original musical drama featuring a cast of formerly incarcerated people is coming to Sacramento! The Poetic Justice Project is an organization that creates theater centered around crime, punishment, and redemption--all present themes in their newest show, Off The Hook. Jeffrey speaks with these real life "ex-cons" about their personal stories and how theater has shaped their lives.

Off The Hook will be showing at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27th at The California Stage, 1723 25th Street, Sacramento. Reservations available at 916-451-5822. It will be showing at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28th at the Bohemian Art Loft, 3304B Bechelli Lane, Redding.

Tim Comstock Set in the tranquil town of Carmel, California, Tim Comstock's new novel explores how a retired detective can never truly be retired when crime hits. The Sacramento-native author speaks about the inspiration for his new novel.
