Education Lawsuit/Diesel Spill/Women's Health/Omar Sharriff


Education Lawsuit A lawsuit claims that the state of California is shortchanging public education for it's citizens, which is resulting in unequal learning opportunities. The suit was filed by a coalition of education groups. Today on Insight, we'll discuss the issue with the plaintiff and defendant.

Diesel Spill Clean-up Thousands of gallons of diesel spilled near Donner Lake last month, but clean-up has been slowed by a series of late storms in the region. We'll talk with the California Department of Fish and Game about the clean-up effort and what's happening now.

Women's Health Women's health expert Dr. Christiane Northup recently updated her most famous book, "Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom." She also has a new public TV specila and presents it at Sacramento's PBS station KVIE tomorrow evening. You'll meet Dr. Northup and hear why she updated the book.

Omar Sharriff Sacramento blues pianist and singer Omar Sharriff heads back to his Texas hometown this week for a concert in his honor. The city of Marshall calls itself the birthplace of boogie woogie, which is the style of music Sharriff plays and is credited with helping develop.
