Opera Singer In the opera world, one of the big breaks a young singer can have is in the Metropolitan Opera Natalion Council auditions. Unfortunately, that experience didn't go well for Carrie Hennessey in 1998, a then 22-year-old from Minneapolis. Her voice failed her and her opera career might have been over. Hennessey now lives in Natomas and is rebuilding her life as a professional classical singer. Last Friday in Sonoma county, she sang the lead in the West Coast premiere of a contemporary opera. You'll meet her and hear some of her music.
"Burn This" "Burn This" is a Lanford Wilson play about four colorful characters brought together by tragedy - specificially, a funeral. A New York Times reviewer described the play in 2002 as "an exquisitely arranged chamber piece for four ... people who have misplaced their deepest feelings." A local production of "Burn This" opens Friday. You'll meet some cast members and hear a scene.
