False Friend

January 2017 book selection

False Friend

by Andrew Grant

January 4, 2017 | Vicki Lorini

Happy New Year. It's almost here.  We are so excited to have Andrew Grant coming to talk to Donna Apidone about his new thriller False Friend.  It's a new year, and you thought the parties were all over, but there is one more to hold us until Valentine's Day, and that's the CapRadio Reads Fourth Anniversary Party.  Eat, drink and be merry.  Andrew Grant is coming all the way from Chicago to celebrate with us.  His publisher is even giving us two copies of his previous book to give away, so sign up to join us and be entered to win a copy. The party starts at 6pm on Tuesday, January 10 in our Community Room. You gotta be there!

The tree is still up, but the presents aren't under the tree anymore.  Did you get some great new books to read? One I know you don't have, because it doesn't launch until our event, is the new Andrew Grant, False Friend.  It's a police thriller, set in Birmingham Alabama and it's absolutely terrific.  Andrew Grant, hails from Birmingham England, as does his brother, also a pretty good writer, Lee Child.  They both live in the US now.  Grant lives in Chicago with his wife Tasha Alexander, a wonderful Historical Romance writer.  Andrew Grant is coming all the way to Capital Public Radio in Sacramento to launch his new book, and we want to give him a big welcome.  Please join us for his launch Party and our Fourth Anniversary party.  We'll be here with bells on, Tuesday, January 10 at 6pm in our Community Room.  Don't miss it, it's the best party of the year!

Of course, I'm referring to our next CapRadio Reads author event with Andrew Grant.  I know you are busy, putting together bicycles and making cookies for Santa, so I'll keep it short and sweet.  Our Fourth Anniversary Party is also the launch party for Andrew Grant's latest detective thriller False Friend.  Tickets are available for this "in conversation" with Donna Apidone, which will be held Tuesday, January 10 at 6pm in our Community Room.  Delicious snacks and lovely wines will top off this celebration and ticket holders will be registered to win a copy of Andrew's previous book, False Positive.  So come on, take a minute, have a cup of cocoa and register here.  See you in January.

Be sure and register to join us for our Fourth Anniversary Party, with author Andrew Grant in conversation with Donna Apidone.  Grant's latest book, False Friend, is a fast paced police thriller featuring Detective Cooper Devereaux.  Devereaux made his first appearance in Grant's previous book False Positive.  You can win a copy of that first book from Ballantine Books just by coming to this fabulous party, Tuesday, January 10 at 6pm in our Community Room.  We will have our usual wonderful tidbits and wines, along with another terrific interview.  Don't miss our big night.

Can you believe we have been doing this for four glorious years?  Looking back at all the incredible books we've read and authors we've met is such a joy, but looking forward is the real treat. 2017 will start off strong with Mystery Thriller author Andrew Grant.  Grant, though English, has written his second book about a cop in Birmingham. Birmingham Alabama, not Birmingham England, the city of his birth.  This book, called False Friend, is a follow up to False Positive, and you have the opportunity to win a copy of that first book at our anniversary party.  When you sign up to attend our party, which will happen on Tuesday, January 10 at 6pm, you will automatically be entered to win.  If you are selected as a winner, Ballantine Publishers will bring your copy to the party.  Please join us, and help us celebrate.
