NPR said of our May selection, Exit West by Mohsin Hamid "He captures the feeling of being displaced beautifully, this is the best writing of Hamid's career". Not faint praise and this review follows the same theme as all others. Hamid's skillful writing will draw you into this story of love and the journey it takes. You will feel an empathy with these people which may change your outlook on our world today. It may also open you to new forms of fiction. The book has a slightly magical feel, which is not usually to MY liking, but this time it not only works, it works beautifully and gives the reader a renewed power.
Please come and give us your thoughts. Our meetings will take place on Tuesday, May 9 in our Community Room. Be there.
