Please mark your calendars for what may be one of CapRadio Reads most fascinating conversations yet. On Tuesday, May 9, at each of our two meetings at 2pm or 6pm we will be discussing the new novel by Mohsin Hamid, Exit West. Set in an unidentified country, somewhere in the Middle East, two young Lovers, Nadia and Saeed are almost typical young lovers, texting, sneaking into each other's apartments and listening to music. The unique thing about their relationship is that it goes on while the city around them is crumbling and war torn. Then, they start to hear rumors, rumors of doorways and their journey begins. You will certainly fall in love with this couple, and you will also feel a pull to the words of this story. Please, don't be left out. Sign up today to be with us for this one.
A book that receives only fantastic reviews is very unusual. In fact, I believe we have only read one book in the last four years that will compare with our May selection, Exit West by Mohsin Hamid, and that book was A Constellation Of Vital Phenomena by Anthony Marra. I don't want to set the bar so high that there are any disappointments here, so maybe I should just say, you won't be sorry you read it. See for yourself. Get a copy of Exit West and join us for one of our two meetings on May 9. Tell us what you think, but you had best look up some new superlatives, because I think you will need them. Face to Face meetings will be at either 2pm or 6pm in our Community Room on Tuesday, May 9. Join us, please.
