Edward R Murrow and The Race for Paris

Wednesday, September 7, 2016 | Permalink

We, at CapRadio, are extremely proud of our Edward R. Murrow Awards.  Edward R. Murrow was a leading journalist for many years, but his voice during World War II inspired many.  He gained fame in 1938, when Hitler annexed Austria, and he continued reporting both in Europe and the US throughout the war.  He assembled a team of reporters who were known as "The Murrow Boys".

It seems so fitting that we are getting ready to welcome author Meg Waite Clayton, who has written about two fictional war reporters, this time women.  The stories of these women, who were racing to Paris to be there when the City of Light was liberated are as thrilling and real as the reports put out by Mr. Murrow and his team.  How wonderful that we will tie it all together in our Community Room on Tuesday, September 13 at 6 pm.

Come join us, and while you're here, be sure and take a look at the Murrow awards in the case in our lobby.  See you soon.
