Where do fact and fiction collide? The Hours Count, our October book review selection by Jillian Cantor, makes excellent use of both.  In this book, which centers on the trials of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, and their ultimate fate, Cantor keeps enough real characters and events in to keep the reader wondering.  The notable fictional character, Millie, is based on an actual neighbor of the Rosenbergs, who took their sons in when Ethel was arrested. Our Millie has a fictional life and family, but we quickly allow ourselves to feel her love and pain. Is her Russian born, hard drinking, mean husband really a Russian spy?  Is sweet psychologist Jake who he claims to be?

I hope you are finding the book both interesting from a historical perspective as well as a face paced story.  Let's talk about it, on Tuesday, October 11 at either 2pm or 6pm in our Community Room.  See you then.
