We are one week away from a Provençal Evening right here in Sacramento.  On Tuesday, November 15, at 6pm we will welcome James Beard Award Winner Georgeanne Brennan, in conversation with Donna Apidone, to talk about her new book My Culinary Journey: Foods and Fetes of Provence.  This memoir, filled with personal stories of friends and family, is set among the lavender fields of Provence.  This book is an expansion of her book A Pig In Provence, now with new recipes and beautiful photography.  We get updates on the people we met in her earlier book, and she expands on her life and the lives of the people of Provence.  Please join us for a memorable, and tasty evening.  We look forward to seeing you there.

We are very close to welcoming author, chef and entrepreneur Georgeanne Brennan.  Georgeanne will be with us, in conversation with Donna Apidone, talking about her new book My Culinary Journey: Foods and Fetes of Provence.  Georgeanne Brennan has been a member of our community for many years, but she spends much of her time, with her family and friends in the Haute Provence region of France.  Her new book speaks about her life, starting when her family was very young, moving to France to learn to live off this beautiful land.  Her son was born in France, as was much of her love for all things Provençal. This book brings it all together and talks about food, animals and lots of love in this beautiful part of the world. Georgeanne Brennan, author of the CapRadio Reads November selection, My Culinary Adventure: Food And Fetes of Provence, is a chef, a writer, a delightful person and a James Beard Award Winner.  The James Beard Award is an annual award given for excellence in cuisine, culinary writing and culinary education in the United States.  She has been a finalist several times, but her book Food and Flavors of Haute Provence was the winner. She is back, this time with another book, both recipe book and memoir and will be our guest, Tuesday, November 15, at 6pm in our Community Room.  Come hungry, because there will be lovely food and wine, as well as so much talk of food and France you will be instantly transported.  Please join us.

I had the opportunity to meet Georgeanne Brennan in 2007, when her book A Pig In Provence first came out.  Reading that book, and a stay in her charming 16th century home in a very small town in Provence made me a fan for life.  I am so happy to, once again, host Georgeanne for a book event.  This time, we at CapRadio Reads are honored to present the inaugural event for My Culinary Adventure: Foods and Fetes of Provence.  We will serve our usual lovely appetizers, some delicious wines and most important, a wonderful conversation with Georgeanne and our own Donna Apidone.  They will talk more about Georgeanne's time in Provence, her cooking and recipes and her family.  You will be able to smell the lavender in the air by the time this evening is over, so don't miss a minute of it.  Get your tickets now for an evening with Georgeanne Brennan, Tuesday, November 15 at 6 in the evening at Capital Public Radio.  I'll see you there.
