If we were to count the number of literary prizes our visiting authors have won, we would need extra fingers and toes. The latest author to contribute to this trend is our July guest, J. Ryan Stradal, author of Kitchens of the Great Midwest, who has been nominated for, among other things, Best Debut Novel by the American Bookseller's Association. When you read the book, you will understand why.
Stradal is clever, hip and clearly gets food. He also clearly gets people being over-the-top obnoxious about food. As a self-proclaimed "foodie” I will use this book as a guide and really try to tone it down. I do NOT want to become fodder for the next great American novel.
If you love books, authors and/or food, please join us On Tuesday, July 12 as Donna Apidone interviews J. Ryan Stradal. We promise an evening of fun, with tasty appetizers, an engaging conversation and a visit to the CapRadio Garden.
This is really the best place to be on a summer night in Sacramento. Reserve your space now.
