This is how the cookie crumbles:
As you know, Anthony Marra, author extraordinaire of the new book of interrelated short stories, The Tsar of Love and Techno, will be with us for CapRadio Reads’ third anniversary celebration on Tuesday, January 26 at 6pm. There are a few tickets left, but we expect a sellout.
If you have been to any of our author events, you know we always have a lovely spread of appetizers and wine. We also always have a special cookie made just for that event. We had Madeleines for one French event and sugar cookies in the shape of the Eiffel Tower for another. We had oatmeal cookies for a book about a Mom and Italian cookies for our Pizza Bible event.
Now I'm at a loss. I just don't know what kind of cookie to make for this upcoming event. Anthony Marra’s stories start in Stalinist Russia and end at the height of Communist rule. Somehow, a Russian Tea Cake just doesn't seem right. If you've read the book, please send me a suggestion in our comments section. Even if you haven't read it, but you have a favorite Russian cookie, let me know.
So, while you are enjoying cakes and cookies at all your holiday parties, imagine yourself munching at our anniversary event -- Anthony Marra in conversation with Donna Apidone at CapRadio Reads on January 26 -- and give me some of your best cookie ideas.
Cheers to you all and to all a good night.
