October is National Pizza Month, and boy, are we going to celebrate.
Tony Gemignani, author of The Pizza Bible, will talk with Donna Apidone with the backdrop of CapRadio’s fabulous new garden. Whatever else you had planned for 6pm on the night of October 13th, cancel it, and come join us at the Capital Public Radio studios for pizza, conversation, wine and music.
We still have tickets available, and you know you want to be with us. By 8 o’clock that night, you'll have all the secrets to making great pizza at home. You can even have Tony autograph your book, so you will be inspired when you create your own pie in your kitchen.
I'll be making some little Italian cookies for you as well. Can't wait to see you there.

Tony Gemignani, author of The Pizza Bible and 11-time World Champion Pizza Maker, shows his respect in his cooking and in his writing. The Pizza Bible, which is CapRadio Reads’ October selection, teaches us all how to respect the craft of pizza making. Tony removes the mystery and keeps the magic.
The pizzas featured in his book are not all easy to construct, but if you follow the instructions and use the suggested ingredients, you will end up with a pizza as good as any you have had, and I've had quite a few.
With a rather famous resident of Rome traveling in our country last week, it is especially timely to note Tony's Pizza Romana. It's a very large pizza, and his technique for baking it in two halves in the oven makes it possible to make your own and end up with a WOW presentation.
Even if you never make a single pizza out of this book, it is an interesting read, has beautiful pictures and may give you some new ideas on what makes a pizza.
Enjoy a taste of Tony Gemignani's pizzas, meatballs and more as the chef answers questions from our own Donna Apidone. Join us on Tuesday, October 13 at 6 p.m. at Capital Public Radio.

... what a perfect combination.
Do you have your tickets to the CapRadio Reads Pizza Extravaganza? This is one event you can't miss. Donna Apidone and Tony Gemignani will be talking pizza, ovens and Double Zero flour when we meet at 6pm, October 13th in the garden at Capital Public Radio.
Gemignani will share some of his secrets about pizza, and he should know. He is the 11-time winner of The World Pizza Contest and author of The Pizza Bible The CapRadio Reads selection for October. Tony is bringing samples of the pizzas featured in his book. We'll also have prizes for those in attendance and, of course, some delectable wines AND our special cookie.
How can you resist? Join us and eat up the fun.

We read for pleasure, and we eat for pleasure, so why not combine the two? No, I'm not suggesting a diet of paper and ink.
Reading a great cookbook can bring back memories of a childhood or dreams of a great dinner with friends. Our guest author for October, Tony Gemignani, will bring with him ideas for that big dinner, tales from his childhood AND pizza! While Tony and our Morning Edition host Donna Apidone discuss flour and throwing techniques, you can munch on some favorite recipes from his book, The Pizza Bible. Tony is going to bring pizzas made from recipes in his book, as well as other very special prizes to be given out to our guests at this event.
After our long, hot and sometimes smoky summer, it will be a delight to be out in our beautiful CapRadio garden with a glass of wine, a slice of the best pizza in the world (and that is the truth), listening to a real expert tell you how you can do it at home.
Join us at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, and bring your appetite for pleasure.

It's hard to believe we are winding down our third year of CapRadio Reads. We have two more author events in 2015, and then we'll all take a month off to celebrate the holidays before coming back for a whopper of an Anniversary Party in January.
Before we get to that, however, we have a pretty spectacular party planned for October. Tony Gemignani will be with us in our fabulous new garden to discuss his book, The Pizza Bible, with our Morning Edition Host Donna Apidone (Donna has eaten pizza, but knows nothing else about it).
Tony is an 11-time World Pizza Champion, so he knows his stuff. He'll let us in on some of his secrets and tell us about the various contests he's entered all over the world.
This event is going to be great fun, and our garden is a beautiful setting. Don't miss out. There will be the usual beautiful display of appetizers, wines and a special Italian cookie for you to try.
Get your tickets before we sell out, and I'll see you there. Buon Appetito!
