While we plow through the endless articles on diet and exercise, low-calorie chocolate cakes, and how to lose all the weight you gained over the holidays in seven minutes, I suggest another route to real happiness in 2015: Sit in a comfortable chair, with a good light, and work out your brain!

A great device for this is not an expensive treadmill, or "supplements." Try a great mystery novel. I, of course, have a suggestion. If you haven't already started our January CapRadio Reads selection, Murder in Pigalle, now is the best time to do it.  Cara Black, the author of this 13th in the Aimee Leduc series of Parisian mysteries, will be joining us for our Second Anniversary Soirée on Tuesday, January 13, at 6pm.

You will want to have read the book so you can have all your questions lined up for Cara. Since you will have had lots of time for that diet-and-exercise program to take effect, you may even want to ask her about the world of fashion in Paris. Her heroine, Aimee, is always decked out in a fabulous collection of couture designs, even in this book, where she is five months pregnant.

Cara spends much of her time in Paris and can speak to all that is "Parisian". Come join the fun. Start the New Year right with us at CapRadio Reads.  Get your tickets now, and wait for the Ooh, La La!
