Have you reserved your seat at the table? I hope so, because our conversation, on April 14, at 6 p.m., is going to be a good one.

You may not have known that Lisa See's great-grandfather had a store in Sacramento. He sold fancy, and somewhat racy, lingerie to "fallen women" in our Chinatown. There are some who say the nightclub stars in China Dolls are fallen women, and their own families were not happy with their chosen careers. Even when fame came to some of these
women, they were still not recognized for their talents, as they would have been had they been Caucasian.

How do you feel their career choice affected their ability to make friends?  Would things have been much different in the Caucasian nightclub world for the girls who chase that career? These are just some of the questions we'll discuss when we meet face to face.

Be sure to join us for a great evening at CapRadio Reads.
