We are less than two weeks away from our evening with Galadrielle Allman in conversation with Donna Apidone.
There are many reasons to attend this extraordinary event on July 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Capital Public Radio. Reasons 1 through 15 are the stories, in her own voice, of Duane Allman's daughter. Galadrielle will discuss what she has learned through years of research about the father she hardly knew. You will hear what life was like for Duane and his brother Gregg growing up, about their time together as musicians on the road, and about the "extended family" they developed with other renowned musicians. The book, Please Be With Me, is an incredibly well-written account of Duane's life. Donna Apidone has a lot of questions for Galadrielle, and you will have the opportunity to ask your own questions.
Every CapRadio Reads Author Event is worth attending for other reasons. The food is always heavenly, and this time we will take a seriously Southern slant with barbecue and related dishes. CapRadio Reads' wine sponsors will be serving up the red and white. And we will have fun mixing with other CapRadio listeners, readers and staff.
