CapRadio Reads has an amazing event coming on July 15, at 6:30 p.m. We are thrilled to welcome Galadrielle Allman, daughter of the late legendary guitarist Duane Allman. Galadrielle comes to Capital Public Radio, in conversation with Morning Edition Host Donna Apidone, to discuss her book, Please Be With Me: A Song For My Father, Duane Allman.
Although she was only two when her father died in a motorcycle accident, Galadrielle has gathered memories from family, friends, fellow musicians and fans. She also has put together a huge collection of music, not just Allman Brothers recordings, but practically every recording with every band or musician Duane played with. Her story, and that of her family, is a uniquely heartfelt American saga. Many of us will feel we've lived along with her. The book is inspiring and eye opening. It attracts new fans, and it makes longtime fans miss Duane Allman all over again.
Because we know our listeners and members are not only readers and book lovers, but music fans as well, we invite you to join us for what is sure to be a memorable evening. Tickets are limited and are going fast already. The $15 ticket price includes a special Southern repast in honor of a very Southern family. Who knows, we may even eat a peach!
