With just a hint of Fall in the air, we are preparing for our final author event of the year.
On Tuesday, October 14, at 6:30 p.m., we will welcome author Michelle Richmond to talk about her latest book, Golden State. Donna Apidone will guide the conversation.
Richmond's novel presents a highly dramatic personal story of four people whose lives are interrupted by an election to decide whether California, the Golden State, will secede from the Union, or stay a part of the United States.
Two sisters, who have had tragic episodes disturb their relationship, have an opportunity to reunite in the midst of a political situation that has delivered San Francisco an earthquake-like blow.
Richmond is a winner of many literary awards, including the Mississippi Review Fiction Prize. She is best known for her previous novel, The Year Of Fog, which appears on many "top ten favorite" book lists. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from The University of San Francisco.
Golden State shows a glimpse of San Francisco's future that is every bit as enthralling as its past, and will make for another fantastic conversation.
Please join us for an evening of wine, conversation and terrific food, (no Rice-A-Roni here).

As always, thanks for reading.
