What if California seceded from the nation? What if a girl raised in poverty in Mississippi moved to the Golden State and went on to write best-selling novels?

In her novel Golden State, which is our October pick and author event, Michelle Richmond tells her story and answers many "what if" questions for the reader. She tackles a difficult hostage situation, and she answers the question, "what if" someone comes back from war and is left unstable?

Richmond encourages her readers to think for themselves and ask their own questions while reading her stories. A book is truly memorable when the reader is still asking questions after finishing reading, and this book satisfies that urge.

Please join us for an evening of conversation, wine and appetizers and a chance to ask Michelle Richmond your own "what if?" Tickets are still available for this event on Tuesday, October 14, at 6:30 p.m. at Capital Public Radio. Join us! Get your ticket by clicking on the orange Eventbrite button.
