Thousands of people are expected to brave the weather for the eighth annual Capitol Beer Fest on Saturday.

This year, 120 brewers, including The Bruery, Kern River, Moksa, Moonraker and Track 7, will make 400 beers available for tasting.

Randy Seevers is the event's organizer. He says they're ready for any weather.

"We encourage people to bring their umbrellas,” he said. “We're handing out ponchos at the gate when they come in, a dollar a piece."

If there’s bad weather, city police will allow people to leave the event to take cover, but later re-enter.

All of the profits go to fund the Runnin' For Rhett youth fitness program. It is named after Seevers' son, who passed away from complications due to cerebral palsy. Last year's event was held on the Tower Bridge and netted some $170,000 for the nonprofit.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and range from $40 for general admission and $65 for VIP.
