Faulty Underground Cable Causes Thousands To Lose Power In Sacramento, SMUD Says

UPDATE 7:45 a.m.: The Sacramento Municipal Utility District says power was restored in the Pocket area. It cites a faulty underground cable as the cause.


Original Post: More than 16,000 customers lost power starting at 6:46 a.m. near the Executive Airport and the Pocket area in Sacramento.

SMUD has tracked more than 500 complaints. Crews have not reported a cause for the outage, but expect to bring the neighborhood back online by 8:45 a.m. this morning.
