A Sacramento food truck owner whose dog and business mascot was fatally shot when his house was burglarized is still looking for a suspect.
Andrew Blaskovich, owner of Drewski's Food Truck, said Tuesday that he's received a great deal of support from the community since the burglary Saturday night.
His 2 1/2-year-old Great Dane, Rex, was found dead with a wound to the chest. Blaskovich says the Front Street Animal Shelter and the Sacramento Police Department are examining Rex's body for clues.
Blaskovich is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest. A GoFundMe account online has raised $5,395 as of Wednesday afternoon.
Blaskovich says the support he has gotten from the community has been "awesome."
"The support is overwhelming and I appreciate the support," he says.
Blaskovich says people have offered him a new dog, but he just isn't ready for one.
"Hopefully that reward might flush someone out, that we figure out who these sickos were and bring them to justice," he says.
On Wednesday morning, Blaskovich says the Sacramento Police Department is continuing to look at evidence, but there are no new updates into the investigation.
PLEASE SHARE! $5000 REWARD for any info that leads to arrest ans conviction....JUSTICE FOR REX..... First of all I want...
