President Obama has proposed a budget for next year that includes $158 million for Sacramento and Central Valley flood control projects.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says if the budget is approved, almost half would go to spillway projects at Folsom Lake.
If Congress approves, $13 million would go to the Marysville ring levee project and a Sacramento River erosion project.
Tyler Stalker with the Corps says about $3.5 million would go to improve 24 miles of levees around the Natomas Basin.
"That would be to conduct design and would hopefully get us through our design project for levee improvements in Natomas to then be able to move forward with construction beginning in 2017."
The President's proposed budget would go into effect in October of next year.
Tuesday, the Army Corps of Engineers is expected to announce what money it has to spend on projects for the next eight months.
