(AP) -- More than two dozen people, along with State Sen. Leland Yee, were formally indicted Friday in a sweeping San Francisco political corruption case.
The grand jury indictment released Friday replaces a criminal complaint prosecutors filed last week. Yee and 19 others were arrested in the San Francisco Bay Area on March 26.
Some 29 other people have been charged in connection with an organized crime investigation centered on a Chinese social organization the FBI says is a front for an Asian gang. The indictment appears to add two more people to the case who weren't charged last week.
Yee is charged with conspiring to connect an undercover FBI agent with an arms dealer in exchange for campaign contributions. He is also charged with trading political influence for cash.
