At Isadore Cohen Elementary School in Sacramento, Principal Tori England says teachers started the day with a brief reference to last Friday's shootings. Then, they reviewed school emergency procedures, "Just to review with students that our job is to keep them safe. They are safe at school every day and then just to move on with the morning."
Sacramento City Unified School District Superintendent Jonathan Raymond visited Cohen Elementary and many other schools in the district today, "We're reminding our parents. We're remind our staff, look, keep your eyes open. It's all of our responsibility to look out for our children. We're also reminding our staff to lock their doors, and just to be smart"
Raymond says the district and the Sacramento Police Department will meet soon to review schools' response to campus intruders.
