Those supplies were intended to feed and clothe about 400
homeless vets during a three-day gathering at Camp Pollock in
Sacramento later this month. John Buck is with Sacramento Stand
Down, the group organizing the event.
"You can't stay depressed over this. You simply have to move
forward and try to get replacements because our only other choice
would be to cancel the event."
The event is still on for September 21st through
the 23rd.
Buck says volunteers have 10 days to try and replace all the
things that were taken - cooking utensils, clothing…even electrical
equipment.
"We actually have dentists come out to the site to provide
dental services and it's all free for the vets. But you need to be
able to have the electrical connection to be able to provide that
kind of service."
Police are investigating the thefts which happened sometime
over the Labor Day Weekend.
