The American Red Cross has established an evacuation shelter at the Foresthill High School.
Animal Shelter is located at the Pleasant Street entrance of the Gold Country Fairgrounds
Road Closures: Just Rd., Big Dipper Rd., Glory Mound Rd., Kings Hill Rd., Brushy Bear Rd., Brushy Creek Rd., Shirt Tail Canyon Rd.
The size of the fire remains at 2,650 acres, with 60 percent containment. There are 1,989 people working the incident.
Animal shelters for evacuated animals are set up when the need arises, according to Mike Winters, animal service manager for Placer County Animal Services Center. For them, it is a routine response to an emergency, he said.
Last week Animal Services set up an emergency shelter for pets evacuated from homes threatened by the Robbers Fire. As of Monday the fire, which started Wednesday, had burned 2,650 acres and threatened 170 homes in canyon land between Foresthill and Colfax.

Firefighters made significant progress on the Southeast and Northeast sides of the fire. Containment percentages have gone up and fire lines are holding.
The fire has burned 2,650 acres and is now 50% contained.
The count of destroyed structures remains the same: 4 outbuildings and 1 residence. Structures threatened: 170.

Evacuations remain in effect for homes off Yankee Jims & Southern part of Iowa Hill. The following roads are evacuated: Spring Garden, Yankee Jims Ln., Small Hope Mine Ln., Owl Creek Rd., Pine Mountain Rd., Meritage Oak Ln., Kings Hill Rd., Brushy Creek Ln.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The wildfire burning near Foresthill in Placer County has destroyed one home and forced evacuations from dozens of others.
State fire officials say the blaze is now 45% contained after burning about four square miles.
Despite improved weather conditions and the progress firefighters are making in surrounding the blaze, evacuations remain in place, with homes near Foresthill still threatened.
Twelve firefighters have been injured battling the fire, and about 2,200 personnel are currently on scene.
