In a letter to the city, an attorney for the Maloofs claims Sacramento's already behind schedule in the environmental impact review process. He also questions the affects that high speed rail, construction costs, and possible litigation might have on the project.
The city claims it is on time with its environmental review process and that the Maloofs concerns are based on outdated information.
The city also says the Maloofs agreed to a term sheet during the NBA All Star week in Orlando. The Maloofs say they didn't sign anything because they didn't want to pay predevelopment costs.
The National Basketball Association says it will pay up to $200,000 for the Maloofs. The NBA Board of Governor's meet April 12 and 13. The Kings will be on the agenda.
The Maloofs most recent statement says they are still on board with an arena deal.
