Mitt Romney's support among California Republicans has barely changed over the last several months.  He had 30 percent in June and September.  Now, he's at 26 percent.  And he continues to narrowly lead his top challenger.  The difference is who that challenger is.  In September, it was Rick Perry.  Now, says Field Poll Director Mark DiCamillo, it's Newt Gingrich.

DiCamillo: "He's the flavor of the month - people really have warmed to him.  And I think even some of Romney's former supporters - while not totally convinced that they might vote for Gingrich - are willing to give him a look."

DiCamillo says the battle between the conservative and moderate wings of the California Republican Party is on full display in the presidential race.

DiCamillo: "It's basically a tug-of-war, and I don't think you can predict, necessarily, which side will win."

More than a quarter of Republicans are undecided.
