Delyn Ellison-Lloyd is the Senior engineer for the city of Roseville. She's overseeing the $500,000 restoration project on a creak called the Secret Ravine . Crews will remove many impediments to the salmon. An abandoned bridge, and old utility lines are coming out. And there are important things going in too.
LLOYD) "They are going to dig down a little bit and open part of the east side of the creek. And then they are going to put large boulders, like four ton boulders, about forty of them in there. And some trees with the root bulbs on them so that the salmon have somewhere to hang out and be cool."
The gravel and the cool waters are essential successful spawning The work should be completed by the end of October. When it's done the salmon are expected to have an additional ten miles of stream to roam.
