There's been plenty of attention focused lately on the aging
Power Balance Pavilion - formerly known as Arco Arena - and the
fact that it no longer meets the needs of a pro-basketball
team.
The efforts to replace it with another sports arena, possibly
at another site, have failed. Consequently, the Sacramento Kings
are likely to leave town.
In the heart of downtown Sacramento there's another aging
facility that is affecting local performing arts organizations in a
similar way. It's the nearly 40-year-old, 24-hundred seat Community
Center Theatre.
