Mayor Kevin Johnson says the Sacramento Kings have one foot out the door, on the way to Anaheim.
"I still believe that it's imminent," Johnson said. "That it's more likely that they'll leave than stay."
There are seven home games left in the season, and many people
think these will be the last games the team plays in
Sacramento. Casey McCraken isn't one of those people.
He created the Facebook page "Keep the Kings in Sactown."
"We're trying to keep people in a positive state of mind,"
McCraken said. "There's a chance the deal won't work.
There's also a chance the NBA will vote against it."
McCraken says there is a strong grassroots effort to keep the
Kings in Sacramento. He says fans have been asking
other NBA team owners to reject the Kings' request to
relocate.
He says fans have also been writing to city council members
and county supervisors, trying to demonstrate that there's still a
demand for a major sports team in Sacramento.
