The state budget passed last month returned to the CSU system about half of the 600 million dollars that had been cut in the past few years. But, there was a condition.
"There is an assumption that we will increase our enrollment based on the funding we receive from the legislature."
Mike Uhlenkamp is with the CSU Chancellor's office. He says CSU must increase its enrollment by 30,000 next year.
"Based on the budget circumstances we were not able to enroll students in the spring of 2010 so we've had a pipeline that was cut off so now we're trying to open that pipeline up and rebuild our enrollment."
