After the New Year, C-S-U tuition will increase five percent, or about 100 dollars. The second half of that plan is a 10 percent tuition increase starting fall of next year. That would account to more than 400 dollars annually.
Mike Uhlenkamp is with the chancellor's office. He says the money will go to pay for student services, 6-thousand new classes, and new instructors.
"There's students right now that they're having to, they're not having the spaces in classes so while they're admitted to the university they can't get classes so that's one of the issues we're trying to address to be able to provide them the ability to succeed once they get through the doors and get in to the CSU."
