The midtown coffeehouse Old Soul competed for one of three airport slots, but 2 went to Peets and one to Starbucks.
Not taking no for an answer, Old Soul's owners spent the last week petitioning on facebook. In chambers yesterday, Old Soul supporters convinced Supervisors to make a special amendment. The Supervisors gave airport staff and concession operators three weeks to reconsider including Old Soul at the new terminal. Jason Geist is a co-owner of Old Soul.
I think the supervisors and the airport staff heard us.
The five restaurants approved for the new terminal are
Paragary's, Burgers & Brew, Dos Coyotes, Jack's Urban Eats and
Cafeteria 15L. Old Soul coffee could make it six.
