“We’ve got vacancies in the department, so people will notice probably some house-cleaning problems, maybe some trash problems, maybe fewer personnel in parks, because we aren’t back to what we could call normal, we’re still way short of that.”
Sterans says 72 million people visited state parks last year. That’s about four million off from the year before. He says that may be due to the fee increases or weather. The Governor’s budget this year calls for keeping all state parks open.
