Angus Barkhuff, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Sacramento, says the system is dropping down from the Gulf of Alaska.
“So it’s going to be a little bit colder than what we expect for this time of year certainly. We do get them occasionally and we have had a couple of them already this year. We’ve been jumping from spring back to winter pretty quickly here recently.”
High temperatures in the Sacramento region are expected to dip into the low 60s. That’s nearly 20-degrees lower than what we had over the weekend.
Barkhuff expects the storm to drop up to three-quarters-of-an-inch of rain in Sacramento…and up to a foot-of-snow in the higher elevations.
But it’ll be a relatively brief system. On Thursday, we’ll have a return to mostly sunny skies and high temperatures approaching 70 degrees.
