Sacramento-area employers posted 23,500 jobs last month, that’s an almost 10 percent increase compared to January. And the four-county region is up about 10% from a year ago.
But there remains plenty of people for each job posted — with about six job-seekers for every open position.
The Conference Board found that the Sacramento region is faring better for job postings than the rest of the state and nation. California was down 4% last month, compared to February, while nationally job postings were off 2%.
However, both were up significantly from February 2009.
Online job postings on sites such as CareerBuilder and Monster is considered one of the best ways to track forward-looking job growth.
