Forecasters say a large ridge of high-pressure has settled over the West Coast...
“…and that’s bringing the warm weather to us and also shielding us from any storm systems. So we’re enjoying sunny skies and warm weather.”
George Cline is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sacramento. He says the record high temperature for today’s date is 76-degrees…so the warm weather isn’t that unusual for this time of year.
As for when we may be getting rain again?
“It looks like our best chance will be next Tuesday. We do have one weak system coming through on Saturday. But we don’t anticipate a lot of precipitation with that one. The more significant system will be arriving on Tuesday.”
Cline says that system could drop up to an inch of rain in Sacramento and six-to-eight-inches of snow in the Sierra.
