Primary Duties

The Community Relations Specialist is  responsible for engaging and collaborating with volunteers, community partners, staff and listeners to grow and engage audience and give voice to community needs, values, and aspirations by executing strategies for increasing audience engagement; planning platform and  format  strategies and campaigns along with the digital and marketing team; monitoring social media on a daily basis and engaging  in conversations on behalf of CapRadio; assisting in coordinating details and logistics of CapRadio’s events .

The position requires strong verbal, written skills, the ability to work in a collaborative manner with an aptitude for cultivating positive relationships. The ideal candidate is a cool headed and solutions oriented, embracing change and innovation; creative and able to juggle projects simultaneously with poise and a positive attitude. Candidates should have excellent organizational and time management skills, coupled with the proven ability to work independently to problem solve, set priorities and manage deadlines. Graphic design skills and experience preferred.

Understanding of relevant social media tools and practices is must.

Familiarity with Capital Public Radio and its programs preferred.
