Primary Duties


Traffic Manager oversees underwriting projects from inception to completion and ensures that each part of the project, from scheduling, contract creation, assigning copy and managing the logs of 7 radio stations is error free. The Traffic manager must effectively manage the logs, maximizing station inventory and work with Underwriting to ensure accuracy and maximum revenue generation.

The Traffic Manager enters and revises on-air copy in compliance with FCC and NPR guidelines, proofreads copy to check spelling, grammar, and correct use of pronouncers; processes orders received daily from sales team, performs adjustments and reconciliation of vendor accounts as needed.

Responsible for scheduling and tracking on-air spots for all sponsors using Marketron Traffic software. The Traffic Manager serves as the point person for any questions regarding underwriting submissions and final billing.


The position requires strong verbal, written, and proofreading skills. Must be able to work in a collaborative manner with an aptitude for cultivating positive relationships. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a professional demeanor; creative and able to juggle projects simultaneously with poise and a positive attitude. Candidates should have excellent organizational and time management skills, coupled with the proven ability to work independently to problem solve, set priorities and manage deadlines. High attention to detail and accuracy are required. Candidates must be articulate, energetic, goal oriented and be able to work across department lines. Proficient in a Windows environment and have the ability and desire to learn new software. Solid understanding of numbers/data necessary. Television/radio traffic experience desirable. Copywriting experience and familiarity with Marketron Traffic System a plus.


Familiarity with Capital Public Radio and its programs preferred.
