Summary
The host is the defining voice of Insight. He or she conveys the sound and approach of the program during interviews, coverage of breaking news and in writing and producing of the program. The host has public radio intelligence and credibility combined with performance ability, show biz sensibility and a marketing instinct. The host also anchors Capital Public Radio's special coverage as needed. 

Duties

The Host conducts live and taped interviews for Insight and other Capital Public Radio platforms, and serves as a writer and producer of segments for the program. He/she stays fully versed in current events, including local, statewide, state government news; participates in program and departmental planning meetings; anchors Capital Public Radio special coverage including election night and State of the State coverage, community forums and other programs as needed.   

Qualifications  

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, at least six years of journalism experience, including at least three years' broadcast or equivalent experience; Proven ability to write for a broadcast audience; Demonstrated ability to report and converse on a wide range of subjects; Broad news knowledge; Well-developed on-air personality and a strong ability to conduct thoughtful and challenging interviews with people who have diverse and opposing opinions, comments and views; Ability to work quickly and efficiently under deadline pressure. Must have experience producing on digital audio workstations, and be familiar with social media and digital equipment and platforms
