Capitol Chat - Sacramento Bee Columnist Dan Walters joins us to discuss gun control in California and how pensions play into the state budget in our weekly edition of Capitol Chat.

LiveStrong - Planning is underway for the upcoming LiveStrong bike race fundraiser in Davis on June 23.  In the face of the Lance Armstrong scandal, cycling enthusiasts, cancer survivors, LiveStrong's donors and a spectrum of fans in between, have more questions than answers.  We'll speak with Matt Florio of LiveStrong about the organization's future.

Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro - Over the course of seven days in February, doctors Randi and Paul Hagerman, along with other scientists from the UC Davis MIND Institute, will make their way through forest woodlands, heath, alpine desert, and arctic zones of Mount Kilimanjaro. They're doing so in an effort to challenge others to raise awareness of fragile X syndrome and fragile X-associated disorders and to raise funds to support their ground-breaking research to find the cure. The fund-raised money will go directly toward the research efforts at the UC Davis MIND Institute.

A Kaptastik Day - The San Francisco 49ers quest for its sixth Super Bowl victory comes to an end this Sunday in New Orleans. Cities across Northern California will be rooting for the 49ers to win, but the small valley town of Turlock will be watching with a little extra excitement. Just south of Modesto, Turlock is the hometown of 49er quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, who played football at John H. Pitman High School. We'll speak with the school's principal about events planned around the city to celebrate the success of Kaepernick and the 49ers potential 6th Super Bowl victory.
