Dealing With Grief Dealing with grief is enver easy and, as most clincal experts will tell you, losing someone around the holidays is especially hard.  Here to explain ways to cope with grief around the holidays is Florie Elmore, Psy. D. from UC Davis.

Tahoe's New Plan On December 12th, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency will vote on the adoption of a new Regional Plan. It's the first big overhaul to the original 1987 bi-state plan governing the Lake Tahoe basin and, depending on the outcome, could become the essential foundation for the next environmental leap forward. We're joined by Julie Regan, chief of external affairs at the TRPA and Darcie Goodman Collins, executive director of League to Save Lake Tahoe, to discuss the options.

Transcontinental Railroad When you drive up Interstate 80 over Donner Summit do you ever wonder where the names of towns like Soda Springs or Dutch Flat originated?  One man who knows the answer, plus a lot more about the pass between Sacramento and the Donner Summit, is Bill George, producer of the documentary film "The Hidden Wonder of the World, the Transcontinental Railroad from Sacramento to Donner Summit" George released the film last year but now he's nearly finished a book on the same topic, which features directions to the sites shown in the documentary and a place called the "Yosemite of Placer County."
