Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony perform Mahler's Symphony #6, a symphony for which MTT and the SFS won the Grammy award for "Best Orchestral Performance" for their 2001 recording.

Trivia: Michael Tilson Thomas and the
San Francisco Symphony made a recording
of Mahler's 6th at the SFS concerts of September
12-15, 2001, immediately following the events of September 11 and
captures a passionate response to that day. The CD of that
performance won a Grammy award for "Best Orchestral
Performance."
