Colusa Farmers Wary of Water Project Despite Governor's Visit

Chris Torres with the Colusa County Farm Bureau points out voters rejected a similar proposal 30 years ago - with particularly strong opposition from the northern part of the state.
Torres: "It was basically a water grab by the South, and we don't want to be put in that position again - because we're point of origin up here. We need the water. We understand the people in the southern part of the state need water too. But storage needs to be addressed."
Brown is pushing a plan backed by water agencies and agriculture groups in Central and Southern California. The plan calls for two 40-mile long, 30-foot wide tunnels to be built underneath the Delta.
