San Joaquin Regional Transit District Fined For Emissions Violations
Thursday, December 27, 2012

The California Air Resources Board has announced that San Joaquin Regional Transit District has been fined more than $32,000 for failing to comply with state emissions rules for trucks and buses.
An ARB investigation found the transit district did not comply with the Transit Fleet Vehicle rules by failing to install legally required emission-control devices on time. It also failed to self-inspect diesel trucks as required by law.
Under the settlement agreement, the district will pay
$35,250.00. About $26,000 will go to the California
Air Pollution Control Fund. The remainder of nearly $9,000
will go to Peralta Community College to fund emissions education
classes.
