Grateful Competitors Hustle To Fill Twinkie Void

The closing of the Hostess bakeries affected a lot of people negatively, but the affect on some people has been almost entirely positive.
On a recent school night, Alex Copeland -who is eight years old- could be found in a local supermarket popping open a large cardboard box of Little Debbie Snack Cakes. He isn't eating them…he's working with his dad, Darrin, stocking shelves.
Dad's delivery route for Lee Distributing includes Yuba and Sutter Counties. Darrin says business has tripled or quadrupled since Hostess went under, "It's picked up extremely for us. We're getting new accounts, a lot more product going into the stores each day, new customers. It's really good right now."
It's picked up so much, Lee Distributing says McKee Foods sent letters to its customers saying its plants were running 24-7 and apologized for the supply shortage of snack cakes.
